Variety: Gesha

Region: Cusco, Peru

Altitude: 2,200 Meters Above Sea Level

Process: Washed

Harvest: October 2025

Notes: Raspberry, Blueberry & Honeysuckle.

Our first release of the year from Peru is a beautiful and opulent stunner. Roberto's Gesha is big on the body and berry-fruit aspects. The florality is ever present, especially hitting the senses in the aromatic's and finish with hints of lavender, rose and honeysuckle. Cup notes include raspberry, fuji apple, cherry and a multitude of tropical fruits with an overall brilliant acidity. This is a really fun coffee, easy to brew in all styles.

Roberto Carlos Palomino Flores is a young coffee farmer at only 25 years old. This year he achieved excellent results with his coffees and wants to increase his overall cultivated area. As a newly formed agricultural technician, he shares his knowledge with neighboring farmers and has been laying the groundwork for an expansive nursery. We couldn't be more excited to see what he has been building in the coming seasons.

This Gesha was harvested by hand with very selective picking for only ripe cherries. All cherries are washed to eliminate impurities and floated cherries are thereafter taken out and discarded. The coffee is initially fermented for 18 hours. Cherries are then depulped and set to ferment again for 36 more hours with no water added, until mucilage has separated from the parchment. Once this process finishes, coffee beans are washed and then are set out to dry on shaded drying beds for approximately 20 days until the moisture content reached a stable 10.5%.

The Gesha variety originally comes from the Ethiopian Gesha coffee forests and has been recorded as accession T2722. This variety has been celebrated as one of the world's most prized coffees. Gesha is an heirloom variety that has varying results from region to region. This cup quality is generally good to outstanding. Although it can be difficult to successfully grow and harvest, it is well worth the risk for many farmers - if you are sipping on this one right now, you understand why so many have fallen in love with this coffee!
