Erika Tellez has put out some very good initial lots and we are happy to share this one with you. This coffee is bright and direct with a pointed stone-fruit acidity and medium body. In the cup we get notes of fruits like rainier cherries, plum cherries, pink lady apple, nectarine and light hints of citrus throughout the profile. This is an excellent representation of the PinkB variety with an approachable acidity and sweetness for all brew types.

Erika was born and raised in Arauca, in a cattle‑farming family, worlds apart from where she is now, in the coffee hills of Huila. In 2021, she met her future husband, and together they decided to move to Huila. There, they rented a small house and began managing neighboring coffee farms in the vereda. Erika is a nurse by profession. She and her husband saved for three years (between her nursing job and managing neighboring farms) before they could buy their own coffee farm. Knowing nothing about specialty coffee at the outset, Erika taught herself everything! She began reading about processing, studying the specialty market, and establishing protocols on her farm to produce quality coffee that could support her family. Her determination to start from zero and build expertise from the ground up is truly admirable.

Pink Bourbon is a fairly new varietal to the world of coffee. It has vastly changed the specialty landscape of Colombian farming in the last few years. This variety has been suspected to be an Ethiopian Landrace though it has yet to be genetically mapped. Due to PinkB's high quality cup profile, it has been highly sought after and preferred by coffee lovers worldwide. I hope you enjoy this coffee as much as I do!

Our coffees are best after two weeks+ of the roast date.

Order by Sunday for next Monday's roast. Shipped on Tuesdays.
